Robert Low

Having experienced war first hand in Vietnam, Robert Low chose to write about the subject from the safety of Scotland. A craving for action and an obsession with ancient warfare brought him to riding, archery and re-enactment, with a Viking group. His Oathsworn Series begun in 2007 runs to four titles: The Whale Road, The Wolf Sea, The White Raven and The Prow Beast, all available from HarperCollins. The Kingdom Series deals with the Scottish Wars of Independence.

The Lion Rampant, the third in Low’s series on the Wars of Independence presents a vivid world of medieval politics in which loyalty can be bought, brothers end up enemies and in the blink of an eye, the hunter can become the hunted. After seven long years of struggle and endurance, Bruce and his loyal supporter, Hal of Herdmanston, come face-to-face with Edward II, the English King humiliated by defeat and determined to put down his Scottish enemy once and for all. And the last great battle for the Scottish throne will be decided on a bloody field called Bannockburn.

Ticket includes a free dram of Glengoyne before the event.
